Beaches near Flear.... Bigbury-on-Sea.

With Spring and Summer in mind, Camilla and I were thinking of all the lovely beach days we had last year with the family. We are so blessed with the surrounding beaches, bays and coves on our doorstep, that we thought we'd mention our favourites. Today it's Bigbury...With it's sandy beaches, lots of space and panoramic views, Bigbury has such a lot of variety that you could visit every day for a week and still be finding a fresh view or a new aspect to love about it.

Burgh Island, with it's famous Art Deco hotel, Gastro-pub and summit picnic area, is simply charming - and reachable either as a walk across the beach at low-tide, or by a ride on the famous, and slightly bizarre, Sea Tractor at high-tide! It's a great place to come to spread out, to have a swim, or get active with the family as there is good sand-castle sand!
