Q: Are your cottages suitable for babies and toddlers?

Absolutely. Every cottage at Flear Farm is set up with babies and toddlers in mind, with stair gates fitted as standard, children's crockery, toy baskets, blackout blinds and step stools included. Cots, high chairs, baby monitors and more are all available on request.

Q: Do you provide cots and high chairs?

Yes. Travel cots and high chairs are available on request at no extra charge. Just let us know when you book and we'll have them ready for your arrival.

Q: Is the indoor pool suitable for babies and toddlers?

Yes. Our 40' indoor pool is heated to a comfortable 30°C and is designed with families in mind. There is poolside seating, and a playpen for babies is available. Swimming lessons can also be arranged for toddlers.

Q: Do you have babysitting available?

We do. Our DBS-checked babysitters are available on request, so parents and grandparents can enjoy an evening out while little ones are in safe hands. You can find out more on our babysitting page.

Sympathetically restored from Flear Farm’s old stone and slate farm buildings with many original features, our family-friendly farm cottages sleep from two to nine people, with Flear House sleeping up to 10. They're fully equipped to make your self-catering family holiday stress-free and relaxing. We even have DBS-checked babysitters available!

Every cottage is child-friendly as standard, with stair gates available on request, children's crockery, toy baskets, blackout blinds and step stools, and cots, high chairs and baby monitors free on request.

Each of our 12 self-catering holiday cottages in South Devon includes a well-stocked kitchen with all the crockery, cutlery and glassware you’ll need. You’ll also find a variety of appliances including an oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and dishwasher, helping you effortlessly cater for those big family meals. All our cottages have Smart TVs and full fibre internet, as well as a washing machine or laundry access to wash out grass-stained trousers too.

Every one of our holiday cottages comes with use of our magnificent 40' indoor pool, heated to 30°C and wrapped in floor-to-ceiling Devon countryside views. Swimming lessons are on hand for little ones, and for the grown-ups, therapist Donna and our steam room and sauna are ready to work their magic.

On rainy days, the giant playbarn has everything: soft play, ride-ons, table football, ping pong, a pool table, a Wendy house and a trampoline.

From our corner of the South Hams near East Allington, you’re within easy reach of a rich coastal playground, from sandy beaches backed by protected dunes to rocky and raw coves weathered and sculpted by Atlantic South Westerlies. Spread out on Bantham’s sands or the sheltered shingle of Blackpool Sands while the kids entertain themselves with digging and driftwood. Walk across to Burgh Island at low tide, or take them for their first (or your first) surf lesson in Bigbury’s rollers.

The sailing towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe are within half an hour, and the market towns of Totnes and Kingsbridge make easy days out. Add the heathered beauty and wild ponies of Dartmoor, and there’s a wonderland of things to do on your doorstep when you stay at Flear Farm Cottages.

We absolutely loved our stay at Flear Farm and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying.
We stayed in 1843 cottage as a couple with a baby. The cottage was lovely, spotless and really nicely decorated. We loved that all the baby things were included - cot, high chair, stair gates, box of children's toys, baby cutlery/plates abf audio monitor. The farm also has plenty of activities, for all ages, seconds from your cottage - swimming pool, hot tub, play barn, tennis courts, outdoor play area, farmyard animals… we are looking forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy it all. We particularly enjoyed joining Barney, the owner, on the morning farm feeding round.
There are lots of beautiful coastal and countryside spots to visit from the farm that are a short drive away. The roads to and from the farm are tiny country roads but that’s what makes it feel so peaceful and quiet! We loved going for morning runs along them.
We spent a week at Flear and felt very well rested and rejuvenated! Don’t hesitate to book!

The cottages were immaculate and well kitted. Cots and high chairs provided as requested. So much for the children to do, play barn and indoor swimming pool were particular favourites. Plenty of walks for dogs and children. Amazing place to spend a family Xmas.

Wonderful Stay

We had a fantastic week at Flear Farm Cottages with our young family. The cottages are great and well appointed, the setting is beautiful and there is so much to do whatever the weather has in store! We also managed to get out and about to the beach and various scenic walks. Thoroughly recommend!
