Classic Cottage Breaks in the Heart of South Devon

Just returned from a short stay at Flear House, and had a truly relaxing time.

The house had everything we needed, the gardens were beautifully kept. We made full use of the play barn, indoor pool and our private pool (maybe needed to be slightly warmer for the time of year) and of course the tranquil nature walks right on our doorstep, which even as adults I don’t think you’d get bored doing them every day!

However the highlight for us was taking our grandson to help the farmer (sorry didn’t even get your name!!) feed the pigs, alpacas, ponies etc. you are a total credit to Flear so thank you for making his time extra special, so much so that instead of heading straight home on the Saturday we spent half a day at Pennywell farm!

Just got back from a week at Flear Farm staying in Cartwheel cottage and cannot recommend highly enough!

Fantastic week. Indoor pool warm and child friendly with poolside seating and a playpen for babies- everything so carefully thought out.
Indoor play barn with everything a child would want to play with. Even a pool table for older children.

The cottages are kept to a very high standard and so beautiful.

Our little one loved feeding the pigs and ponies and seeing the alpacas. Beautiful walks with bbq and fire pits.
Before going they contacted us to see what we needed eg cot, high chair, stair gates, baby monitor etc so we didn't have to worry about any of that.
Would definitely return! 10/10

So many facilities at the site for children and for adults come rain or come shine, and such a tranquil location. Also so many beaches, trips and experiences within a short drive. We have been numerous times over the years and this time we booked Flear House - the grand children loved it! Hide and seek in a big old farmhouse, plus an outdoor pool. What's not to like?

We absolutely loved our stay at Flear Farm and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying.
We stayed in 1843 cottage as a couple with a baby. The cottage was lovely, spotless and really nicely decorated. We loved that all the baby things were included - cot, high chair, stair gates, box of children's toys, baby cutlery/plates abf audio monitor. The farm also has plenty of activities, for all ages, seconds from your cottage - swimming pool, hot tub, play barn, tennis courts, outdoor play area, farmyard animals… we are looking forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy it all. We particularly enjoyed joining Barney, the owner, on the morning farm feeding round.
There are lots of beautiful coastal and countryside spots to visit from the farm that are a short drive away. The roads to and from the farm are tiny country roads but that’s what makes it feel so peaceful and quiet! We loved going for morning runs along them.
We spent a week at Flear and felt very well rested and rejuvenated! Don’t hesitate to book!

The cottages were immaculate and well kitted. Cots and high chairs provided as requested. So much for the children to do, play barn and indoor swimming pool were particular favourites. Plenty of walks for dogs and children. Amazing place to spend a family Xmas.

We had a fantastic week at Flear Farm Cottages with our young family. The cottages are great and well appointed, the setting is beautiful and there is so much to do whatever the weather has in store! We also managed to get out and about to the beach and various scenic walks. Thoroughly recommend!

Just back from our 3rd consecutive family holiday here. We're a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 8 and 6). I can't tell you how perfect it is for our family. The comfy, warm and immaculate cottage (we were in the Linhay) but they all look beautiful. The incredible swimming pool with steam, sauna and hot tub! Such a well equipped play barn, we want to explore the surrounding area as there is so much to offer there but we literally can't get the kids to leave Flear Farm.

We're already booked again for next year. The sure sign of a top holiday!

We stayed in The Stables which had one of the best showers I've experienced in self catering. Well equipped kitchen and comfy sofas with an outdoor private garden overlooking the valley. A fantastic place to enjoy time together. No need to leave although the opportunities for stunning beaches are there should you need further activities.
This all comes at a price for sure, but it is worth it. I love value for money and will return with more of my family!

A truly magical place to stay, we stayed in Flear House which was exceptional! Every detail is so thought through from the cots being set up for our arrival, to the great stock in the honestly shop. The children’s experiences of the animal feeding, play park, play barn and swimming were fantastic! If I could give more than 5* I would, a truly amazing & memorable stay thank you :)

We have just come back from an amazing holiday at Flear Farm. We stayed in Ducks Quarry, two cottages with a joining door. We were six adults, three children and two dogs and we fitted perfectly. The cottage was beautiful as was the whole farm. Plenty for the children to do but also peaceful walks for the adults and the dogs loved it.
It's a real family run farm, everyone is so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Barney is very much hands-on and always busy and farmer Wayne is brilliant! The children loved it when they fed the animals in the mornings with him
I would highly recommend for a family holiday, I'm sure we will be going again.

We had such a wonderful relaxed and rejuvenating stay with you. We loved Orchard Lodge and look forward to staying there again in the not too distant future. The set up was perfect for our little granddaughter and she adored the daily visits by your delightful pigs to the fence round the garden for some vegetable peelings and a good scratch! You have made such a wonderful holiday set up and we were very happy to combine days just relaxing at Flear Farm combined with a couple of short days out at Dartington, Totnes, and Blackpool Sands. Such a lovely holiday! 

We just wanted to write to thank you for what was a wonderful week away at the haven of Flear Farm. The way you have thought of just about everything made our time with you even more enjoyable than expected! The cottages are beautifully furnished and decorated, and equipped with everything we possibly needed. And absolutely spotlessly clean, which given we arrived on what I think was the hottest day of the year so far at that point, would have been no mean feat!

Your grounds and facilities surpassed our expectations and are wonderful, and enabled us to make some really special memories on our family holiday. What was a particularly nice surprise as well was how the intimate (and yet totally spacious!) nature of the site allowed us to meet and have conversations with so many of the other like-minded guests in the same stage of family life as us, even swapping numbers with some!

I really appreciated all of your pre-arrival communication too, it was very thorough and helpful. And we made use of and enjoyed some recommendations of places to eat (the local pub down the road was fab!). 

A note to say a thank you for our lovely stay in Cartwheel Cottage. We were blown away by your beautiful farm and the holiday cottages. The attention to detail and facilities are exceptional. 

Our children had an absolutely magical time on the farm with Wayne, on the trampoline and in the play barn. We had tears as we left today which has never happened before! 

Thank you for having us, we all had a fab time, especially my son who is now a trampoline addict.

It really was as wonderful as we remembered it and we look forward to coming back many times in the future and I’m sure our children will grow up to have magical memories of adventures at Flear Farm as we do.

The cottage was impeccable, a perfect balance between a home and a holiday and the facilities on site were again at such a high standard for everyone to enjoy. It is clear how well thought out and cared for Flear Farm is and we all had a wonderful time and we’re not ready to leave.

We will hopefully be back and have already begun recommending to friends.

Thank you so much for making our family Christmas weekend in Flear House so wonderful. The house is beautiful and with all the Christmas decorations and the stunning Christmas trees which you kindly provided, it was very special indeed. This was our second visit to Flear Farm and I'm sure it'll not be our last.
As always, the play barn, swimming pool, tennis courts, woodland walks etc were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Merry Christmas to you and the boys.

We all had the most wonderful week, and for a three generation family that is certainly an achievement. I truly think you have thought of everything and we all really appreciated the high quality of everything in the house, from kitchen appliances to bathrooms and to beautiful beds and bedding. Everything in the house, combined with the fantastic facilities around the site, made for a truly wonderful and relaxing week. The grandchildren had a brilliant time with the play barn, the indoor pool and meeting the animals. The lovely weather was also a bonus and we were able to make full use of the pool and barbeque.
