Sleep Essentials for Your Baby

One concern many parents have when travelling is how well their baby will sleep in a new environment. Some babies may take a little time to adjust to a new room and unfamiliar noises. Bringing safe, familiar elements of your baby’s usual bedtime routine may help them settle. 

Flear Farm can provide a baby monitor on request, but a monitor is not a substitute for following safer-sleep guidance. The NHS advises that, for the first six months, the safest place for a baby to sleep is in a cot, lying on their back, in the same room as their parent or carer. Bring a well-fitting baby sleeping bag with a tog rating suitable for the room temperature. Keep the cot clear of soft toys, loose blankets, pillows and other unnecessary items. There is no need to keep the cottage completely silent while your baby sleeps, as babies can become accustomed to a certain amount of everyday noise. And, of course, always bring along spare sleepwear for those potential night-time changes.
